Introduction
Welcome back to our third dev update! If you've been following along, you know we've been on quite the journey.
Just jumping in? No worries, you can catch up on our first update right here and the second over here.
We're all about peeling back the curtain on Seedworld, and we love having you along for the ride. So, let’s jump into what’s new and exciting without further ado.
Art Updates
Behind the scenes, the art team is putting their hearts and souls into making Seedworld visually stunning and incredibly intuitive.
They're focused on ensuring that the platform is not just a feast for the eyes but also a fertile ground for creativity.
With tools designed for ease of use, they're setting the stage for players to bring their wildest dreams to life.
Seedworld City
Welcome to Seedworld City, the first theme pack and the capital of our world. It's not just a hub; it's a melting pot of ambitions and stories, each structure a monument to the dreams of its creator.
This is where the adventure begins, with skyscrapers reaching for the stars and marketplaces buzzing with activity. It's a place built on dreams, ready for you to make your mark. Welcome to the epicenter of creation and imagination in Seedworld.
Seedworld City Interior Props
This time, we've zoomed in from the city's grandeur to the intimacy of its interiors. Your space in Seedworld City can now reflect the nuances of your personality, with props that range from vintage chic to eclectic. It's about giving you the tools and furniture to create spaces that aren't just places to visit but homes to return to.
The below props are just a glimpse of the multiple interior designs and variations the team has been working on.
Food Props
What's a city without its food? We've spiced things up with food props, adding flavor to the Seedworld experience. From street-side snacks to gourmet feasts, it's all about bringing more zest to your adventures.
Animations
Aldor's back and smoother than ever. Our focus has been on refining his movements, making every action—from terraforming to casual idling—a little piece of performance art.
These animations are our way of adding depth to character interactions, ensuring they feel authentic and engaging.
Junkyard Settlement Props
Last but definitely not least, we're taking you to the Junkyard Settlement. It’s a unique corner of Seedworld that proves one man's trash is another's canvas for creativity.
First up are the junkpiles, a seemingly chaotic mix of materials that are actually treasure troves for the imaginative builder. Then, we have the airship parts—remnants of adventures past, now waiting to take on new life in your hands.
Game Design
As we continue to focus heavily on game design work, the past few weeks have brought an exciting development to our team—a new Game Design Director.
His 20-year journey spans across mobile, console, and web3 platforms, with a special focus on enhancing user engagement through data-driven strategies and innovative game mechanics.
His expertise in blending game design with social media elements and leading large-scale projects makes him a perfect fit for leading Seedworld's immersive experience.
Development: The Latest Tech Achievements
The team’s development efforts were geared towards a few critical areas, ensuring that the game is as immersive and user-friendly as possible. Here's a brief look at what they've been up to:
Sound and Audio: Laying the groundwork with prototype foundations for sound, diving into character sound effects (SFX) and setting the scene with ambient noises and movement sounds.
User Interface (UI): There are fresh updates to our Build System, making it easier for you to place objects in the world. Plus, they're improving our Editor by expanding its tools and features, making it more intuitive for you to create within Seedworld.
Building and Editing Tools: They’ve been upgrading the toolset for building, including better mechanics for placing and snapping objects together. Also, making in-game systems more modular, which means more flexibility in building mechanics and easier saving of your creations.
In summary, their focus was on enhancing the sound environment, refining the user interface for smoother creation, and upgrading tools for building in Seedworld, ensuring everything you do is both enjoyable and straightforward.
We hope you enjoyed seeing Seedworld City coming to life more and are looking forward seeing your creations in the future within Seedworld.
Let’s build a great experience together and see you back for our next dev update.
