Introduction
It’s that time again!
If you’ve been following our journey, you know that Seedworld’s team is on a mission to build the next-gen UGC game, powered by real-world economy.
In the Dev Update #1, I’ve peeled back the layers of team’s progress thus far, revealing the first behind the scenes of the game’s development and the magic our team has been brewing. If you missed out, catch up here to see how our adventure began.
Today, we dive deeper, sharing more art, updates, and the milestones we've reached.
Art Updates
Lately, the team has been on a quest not just to create, but to turn every bit of art and pixel into stories that make Seedworld an authentic adventure to live.
This period has been particularly exciting as I’ve watched the in game graphics grow richer, our characters more vibrant, and our environments more immersive. Each piece of art tells a part of Seedworld’s story, inviting users to step into a world where every detail contributes to the bigger lore.
Vanguards Evolution
Take the Vanguards, for instance. Their art upgrade is a chapter in itself, showcasing how diverse and rich the fabric of Seedworld is becoming. These characters now stand not just as your avatars but as living stories, each with a unique connection to the world they will inhabit.
Terraforming
Then there's the animation magic the team has been working on. A lot of effort has gone into animating our characters in ways that truly bring Seedworld to life.
It's all about the little details in their steps, jumps, and gestures that make every moment feel authentic, immersive and engaging. This attention to dynamic, fluid motion ensures a vibrant gameplay experience.
A Journey to the Cold
The team’s exploration of biomes introduces a new, frostbitten landscape. The frozen biome will not just be visually stunning; it will also be a challenge that brings secrets and adventures for those brave enough to endure its chill. It's a reminder of the diversity of experiences Seedworld aims to offer, where beauty and danger coexist..
Furniture Props
For our Mercenary pack, the team has introduced new furniture props with a twist. Each piece is crafted to echo the mercenary's life—tough, functional, and full of stories. Take the chair that's not just for sitting but a base for plotting your next move. Or a table that's more than a place to eat; it's where you map out your victories and learn from your defeats. These props are made to carry the weight of the future adventures, blending into the gritty life of a mercenary with ease.
Coastal Gems
After a long day of adventuring, crafting, and dueling, what could be better than retreating to your own slice of paradise? Discovering a hidden coastal retreat in Seedworld is a rare delight that, once found, becomes a sweet reward for your hard work. Imagine building your beach house, a haven where the sea's calming rhythm and the sun's warm embrace will reinvigorate your spirit.
Game Design
As for the game design updates, the team’s philosophy remains focused on creating a deeply engaging and authentic experience. Here's what's new:
Sleeker Maps and Strategic Depth
Navigation just got an upgrade with sleeker maps for swift Land NFT plot discovery. A revamped Tower Defense mode now invites players to a third-person perspective, adding layers of strategy and a richer, more rewarding achievement system to celebrate every milestone in the Landjam.
AI Pets
The AI pet feature is now live, bringing a companion to your side with behaviors rooted in deep research into Personality Theories. These pets aren't just for company; they're designed for diverse interactions and to serve as your guide and help desk within Seedworld, making every encounter unique.
Narrative Design and Gameplay Mechanics
The narrative design now places a stronger emphasis on crafting engaging lore and stories, making your actions and discoveries central to the game's narrative.
This is complemented by detailed character specializations, weapon stats, abilities, and skill trees in the third-person Tower Defense mode's Defensive Phase.
These gameplay elements are not only pivotal to the main game but also available for those keen on creating their own games or other user-generated content (UGC).
