ART & DESIGN UPDATE
Tidecurse Cove
Tidecurse is an abandoned pirate hideout being transformed into a Tier 2 Landmark.
Layout design is currently underway.
Tidecurse will feature enemy encounters, environmental hazards, and light puzzle mechanics.
The Landmark adds new depth and danger to the world’s exploration experience.
For more on Landmarks, check out Dev Update 17.
Netherwharf Hollow (Tier 1 Landmark)
A calmer, quieter fishing village tucked inland
Early-stage build: working title, basic layout, and narrative hooks
Puzzles haven’t been finalized yet, the intent is to balance high-intensity zones with slower, atmospheric environments that rewards players’ curiosity.
Spirits shader (WIP)
Translucent, glowing echoes of Seedworld’s past.
They can’t be killed. But interacting with them using a Nova Orb may reward you with Nova, recovery buffs, or resource bonuses.
Energy Station T1 Landmark - Layout design
Layout design in progress.
We’re seeing early explorations in verticality, rappelling included.
Market Landmark (Tier 1) – Level Design Layout
A work-in-progress layout of a scavenged market.
Design exploration is underway to distinguish what makes this location worth looting.
Forsaken Order - Concept Art
Corrupted ex-guardians turned cultists. They were once protectors of the Seal, now they hunt Vanguards and channel Void rituals.
Visual concept work continues on two early character types within the Forsaken Order.
No gameplay details yet, just silhouettes, masks, and mood.
Vanguards (3D Characters)
As Vanguards, you will come in different forms and shapes, each carrying the weight of the world they were born to reclaim. These are a few 3D characters of the Vanguards:
Female Dwarf – 3D Character
Horns behind the ears and beneath the lips give this dwarf a look that’s part myth, part menace.
Female Dwarf (Alternate) – 3D Character
Intricate rune designs stretch across her face, more than decoration, they hint at something deeper.
Female Elf – 3D Character
Classic elven features meet the Vanguard silhouette. Sleek, proud, and unmistakable.
Male Goblin - 3D Character
This one’s got attitude. Sharp edges, sharper glare, expect a memorable in-game presence.
Female Goblin – 3D Character
Another entry in the Vanguard lineup.
This goblin's silhouette is rough, sharp, and battle-ready.
Void mark - Concept Art
Early concept explores the visual identity of “Void Mark,” the damage-over-time state triggered by prolonged Void exposure.
Scroll Concept Art
Ancient scrolls: blueprints of forgotten tech and magic.
Found in landmarks and events.
Scrolls come in two rarities, Rare and Legendary, and are found across POIs, high-tier landmarks, and major event rewards.
Soulbound: Concept Art (with animation process)
A ritual anchor tied to your respawn.
Early visual development includes placement animations and summoning effects.
When placed and linked to the Nova Orb, it acts as a personal respawn point: a sacred tether between life, death, and return.
Gameplay-wise, it marks a resurrection site. But overuse weakens its hold, and enemies can destroy a Soulbound if discovered.
Soul Breacher (raid gadget) Concept Art
Initial sketches of a raid gadget meant to break enemy defenses.
Summoned near Keep walls, this floating ram will open the way.
Basic Axe and Pickaxe concept art
Early visuals and functionality breakdown for two essential tools.
Chopping trees, breaking stone, and dealing light damage, these are your starter instruments for survival.
Player Keep storage concept art
Initial designs show both wooden and metal variants.
Top-down and side views reveal compartment layouts, indicator slots, and modular sections for future upgrades.
Still early, but you’ll want one.
Resources & Machines: Nova and Darksteel
Nova Resource
If you’ve seen the glittering shimmer of Nova on the map, you’ve already encountered one of the most valuable resources in Seedworld,
It's your key to progression and crafting.
How Nova Works:
Nova = Machine Unlocks: Gather enough Nova to unlock new crafting machines at the Nova Core.
Machines = Recipes: Each machine adds new crafting recipes to your UI. You must be near the machine or within the same Nova Core Build Privilege Ring to use them.
PRISMATE Payments: Unlocking machine blueprints requires PRISMATE (a Nova derivative). After payment, recipes become permanently available.
Whether it’s building weapons at the Assembly Table or stews at the magical Cauldron of Whispers (more on that soon), Nova is the backbone of your creativity.
Darksteel Resource
Darksteel is another core harvestable resource scattered around the world.
Essential for crafting machines and advanced tools, stock up whenever possible.
Runechest: Loot Container
Looting just got an upgrade with the Runechest, the biggest, most rewarding container in the game.
Reaching a Runechest means rare, epic, and sometimes legendary loot awaits you.
Wrapping Up
That’s it for Dev Update #18. As Seedworld expands, we’re filling it with places worth exploring and resources that shape your journey. Until next time,
