Introduction
Welcome to the 5th Dev Update! If you haven't caught the previous updates, you can find them here and here.
In this article, we're exploring the mysteries of the Ancient Temple Ruins theme pack. We'll start with the early sketches of the walls and temple blockouts, then explore the stunning Main Temple and its mysterious Tomb. We'll also give you a sneak peek into our lush new environment work, adding a forest-like vibrancy to the game world.
Ancient Temple Pack: The Wall
Every epic adventure starts somewhere, right? For the Ancient Temple Ruins, it all began with sketches that morphed into the impressive stone walls you see now. They’re rich with carvings and intricate details, standing strong to protect the secrets hidden deep within the ruins.
Ancient Temple Ruins: Blockouts
Before things got detailed, we laid down the basics with blockouts. This early stage involved using simple geometric shapes to nail down the layout and spatial flow of the ruins, giving us a roadmap for the final design.
Ancient Temple Ruins: Main Temple
The Main Temple stands as the heart of the theme pack, with towering columns and winding corridors that promise exploration at every turn.
Once home to grand ceremonies and guarded relics, it now waits to be rediscovered, inviting you to explore hidden chambers and trace the steps of ancient rituals.
Ancient Temple Pack: The Tomb
Hidden deep underneath the temple, the Tomb is a mysterious chamber promising buried relics and intriguing lore. This chamber could hold treasure, ancient texts, or even more questions than answers.
It will challenge players to step carefully while they uncover the buried truths of an ancient civilization.
Environment Improvements
We've got something new on the environment front too, still in the early stages!
A rich forest setting breathes new life into the landscape, with new wind effects creating delicate movement among the leaves. Wind effects and subtle movements make the world feel alive, and it's a beautiful backdrop for the upcoming adventures.
